چکیده

In this paper, we propose a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) based grouping method for IEEE 802.11ah, promising platform the internet of things (IoT). The improves scalability IoT networks, by reducing collisions in points (APs). proposed puts those devices (IoT-Ds) whose channel gains are far enough from each other, i.e., who satisfy NOMA constraints, same group. Therefore, using successive interference cancellation (SIC), AP is able to decode simultaneous signal transmissions IoT-Ds To assign into groups and determine their transmission power, formulate total throughput maximization problem as joint optimal power allocation problem, which non-convex mixed-integer programming problem. We convert it convex quadratic fractional programming, then solve augmented Lagrange multiplier (ALM) method. Moreover, reduce complexity solution, fast allocate group parallel. Simulation results show that methods have outstanding performance compared conventional association identifier (AID)-based method; besides, network terms throughput, consumption utilization dramatically because collision reduction IoT-Ds, achieved deploying SIC. Furthermore, decreases computational greatly at expense small performance.

Analysis of the scalability of hierarchical IEEE 802.15.4/Zigbee networks

IEEE 802.15.4/Zigbee standard constitutes a promising technology for the deployment of low-power and low rate Wireless Personal Area Networks. Many practical applications of this type of networks may require the association of a nonnegligible number of nodes with strong power constraints. In that case, the most efficient way (especially in terms of battery consumption) of organising 802.15.4/Zi...

IEEE IoT IoT Scenario & Use Cases: Social Sensors

Service Description More and more, people have the possibility to monitor important parameters in their home or in their surrounding environment. As an example, take the web site http://bwired.nl/, where each user can have a number of sensors monitoring and measuring parameters related to the functioning of the home or surrounding areas (e.g., the local outside temperature, the humidity, or eve...

Grant-free Radio Access IoT Networks: Scalability Analysis in Coexistence Scenarios

IoT networks with grant-free radio access, like SigFox and LoRa, offer low-cost durable communications over unlicensed band. These networks are becoming more and more popular due to the ever-increasing need for ultra durable, in terms of battery lifetime, IoT networks. Most studies evaluate the system performance assuming single radio access technology deployment. In this paper, we study the im...

Security Improvement for Management Frames in IEEE 802.11 Wireless Networks

IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) has gained popularity. WLANs use different security protocols like WEP, WPA and WPA2. The newly ratified WPA2 provides the highest level of security for data frames. However WPA2 does not really mention about protection of management frames. In other words IEEE 802.11 management frames are always sent in an unsecured manner. In fact the only security mechanism fo...
